Quarantine Positivity

With everything going on around the world with the COVID-19 pandemic it can be hard to stay positive. As a family we have had our own struggles with this pandemic. Family trips, get togethers and outings have been cancelled or postponed. We missed out on Easter with my mom. I wasn't able to photograph my little brother's proposal to his now fiancé. I won't be able to watch him graduate from college now. Its hard on everyone living in this time and so easy for us to focus on all the negative but I recently saw a friend's post that talked about all the positives that have come out of being quarantined that it sparked an idea for me to do my own so here I am!
My quarantined positives.....
1. My husband's job.
Due to Bryan being in the Army we are fortunate enough that working about where money will be coming from hasn't been an issue for us. No matter what he has a guarantied job and paycheck right now. He also has been spending way more time at home due to his company doing a shift schedule where he was working one day and then off two days. His field training was moved from April to June and JRTC was cancelled meaning he won't miss Mother's Day or our wedding anniversary this year now.
2. Blaise is completely potty trained!
Due to not being able to take the kids anywhere, we were able to buckle down on him wearing regular underwear and as of this past weekend have been accident free for a whole week. This is a huge relief for this momma as I was worried he wouldn't be able to start preschool this fall because he was so against using the potty or wearing undies but now he can.
3. We got a new puppy!
After loosing our Bandit in January we said we would never go through the puppy stage again, but due to already having an adult female we realized that bringing in another adult female would not be a good idea (pack mentality). So I thought long and hard and researched for days on possibly getting a puppy. We are stuck at home so we would be able to give the puppy lots of attention and love and help her adjust to her new home. Plus this would help lift the kids spirits, especially our oldest, Brendon, who has been begging for a new dog that will actually play. So last week I found the little girl for us.
4. Family time
This is my favorite positive. Due to not being able to go places we have had to get creative with how to keep the kids and ourselves entertained. We have spent tons of time outside soaking up the sun and fresh air. We have gotten a little pool to help keep cool since central Texas is really starting to heat up this time of year. We have done chalk, bubbles and walks around the neighborhood. Everything has been done together and memories have been made. That makes me happy.
I encourage everyone to try and find their positives during such a trying and difficult time. Feel free to let me know your list! I look forwards to reading them.
